Why does oil return from the discharge port when the oil press is pressing oil?

May. 21, 2025
The main reasons for this situation are as follows:
1. The oil line in the feed section is blocked: When the oil enters the oil press, it needs to go through the process of crushing, pressurization and pressing. If the oil line in the feed section is blocked, the crude oil is accumulated inside the press chamber, resulting in the inability of the raw material to pass through the extrusion head, and the oil can only return along the pressing screw, thus causing oil return.
2. The oil gap is blocked or too small: If the oil gap of the pressing bar is blocked or too small, it will also cause oil return. In this case, the oil cannot flow out normally and can only return to the discharge port along the pressing chamber.
3. The oil content of the oil is too high: If the oil content of the oil itself is too high and the processing capacity of the oil press is limited, it may cause part of the oil to be unable to be discharged in time, and thus flow back to the discharge port.
4. Improper settings of the oil press: The unreasonable settings of the bar gap and the tightness of the pressing ring of the oil press may also cause oil return. For example, if the gap between the bars is too small or the pressing ring is too tight, the flow of oil will be restricted, making it impossible to discharge smoothly.

For the problem of oil return at the discharge port of the oil press, the following measures can be taken to solve it:
1. Clean the oil line and oil gap: Regularly check and clean the oil line and oil gap of the feed section to ensure that they are unobstructed. If the oil gap is too small, the gap between the pressing bars can be adjusted appropriately and the oil gap can be polished with an oilstone to improve the fluidity of the oil.
2. Adjust the settings of the oil press: According to the characteristics of the oil and the actual situation of the oil press, reasonably adjust the settings such as the gap between the bars and the tightness of the pressing ring. For example, for oil with a high oil content, the gap between the bars and the pressing ring can be appropriately increased to facilitate the discharge of the oil.
3. Replace suitable parts: If the oil press is worn or aged after long-term use, the suitable parts should be replaced in time. For example, select pressing bars and pressing rings that press high-oil content materials to improve the processing capacity and efficiency of the oil press.
4. Control the moisture content and pretreatment of oil: Proper pretreatment of oil before oil pressing, such as adjusting the moisture content, frying the seeds, etc., will help improve the pressing performance of oil and reduce the occurrence of oil return. At the same time, reasonably control the input amount of oil to avoid excessive input causing overload of the oil press.
